Welcome, David Rabban!

We welcome this month’s guest blogger, David M. Rabban, the Dahr Jamail, Randall Hage Jamail and Robert Lee Jamail Regents Chair and the University Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas School of Law.  His teaching and research focus on labor law, higher education and the law, and American legal history.  He has long been associated with the American Association of University Professors, as Counsel, General Counsel, and Chair of its Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure.  Legal historians know him for his path-breaking book, Free Speech in Its Forgotten Years, 1870-1920 (Cambridge, 1997), which won the Forkosch Prize of the Journal of the History of Ideas.  He has just published the labor of many years, Law's History: American Legal Thought and the Transatlantic Turn to History.  We look forward to his posts on Law’s History (among other things).  Welcome, David!
