Just a note to add that SHAFR is a great meeting. Small-ish (though a bit bigger than ASLH), and friendly, so it is a very good meeting for grad students and junior scholars, and any legal historians working at the intersection of law and global affairs. SHAFR has great support for grad students, including a competitive grant for travel to the meeting for grad students on panels (see conference website for details). I plan to attend the June meeting.
