Web Resources on School Desegregation

With the U.S. Supreme Court set to hear arguments today in important cases on race and education, here are some resources. To follow today's developments, the best source is the SCOTUS Blog, which has already posted a discussion "Could this be Brown III?" SCOTUS sometimes blogs on arguments in important cases as they occur. The Supreme Court will release tapes of the arguments after they are available, and I will post a link here.

Here are three excellent websites with historical material and links on the history of school segregation and desegregation:

Separate is Not Equal, Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Brown v. Board of Education Digital Archive, University of Michigan.

Brown at 50, Howard University Law School.

My review of these websites is coming out soon in the December issue of the Journal of American History.
